Coverall Taping

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FR coveralls with taping are one-piece work suits made from flame resistant fabric with reflective strips sewn on. They protect against fire hazards and help workers stay visible in low light. Forge FR offers them in navy, royal blue, grey, dark grey and silver taping styles.

FR coveralls resist ignition and self-extinguish. Hi-vis coveralls use bright fluorescent colors and reflective tape for visibility. FR coveralls with taping give you flame protection plus extra visibility, but they are not always ANSI/ISEA 107 hi-vis rated. Check the product page for the exact rating.

Not automatically. ANSI 107 requires fluorescent orange, yellow-green or red background fabric plus tape. Dark-colored coveralls with reflective tape improve visibility, but they are usually "enhanced visibility," not ANSI 107 class garments.

Look for NFPA 2112 for flash fire protection and NFPA 70E or ASTM F1506 for arc flash. Also check the ATPV or HRC rating on the label.

Oil and gas, electric utilities, welding, refineries, petrochemical plants and roadside or night-shift crews use them most. Any worker near flash fire, arc flash or moving vehicles in low light benefits from FR fabric plus reflective tape.

Forge FR coveralls with taping range from $103.73 to $138.75. Many competitor FR coveralls start above $160. Price depends on the style, taping type and size.

Wash by the care label, avoid bleach and fabric softener, and don't overload the machine, since residue can reduce FR performance. Keep the tape clean because dirt lowers reflectivity. Replace coveralls that are torn, thin or badly worn.
